Day 19 To Butchart Gardens and Butterfly Gardens
This morning we drove 25 minutes north to Butchart Gardens. The gardens began to take shape in 1912 (after the Butchart's cement production company exhausted their limestone deposits) and were built in the former limestone quarry, by Jennie Butchart. We spent a lovely four hours exploring, the rose garden
and even the bins!
The lake had a wonderful fountain,
the Japanese garden was picture perfect
and so many beautiful flowers.
We visited the Butterfly Gardens on our way back, which had an insectarium as well as butterflies and much more
Lovely gardens and butterflies etc. Safe journey home.
