Day 6 To Lake Minniewanka and a ride up on the gondola to Sulpher Mountain
This morning we drove the 9km to Lake Minniewanka, which was dammed in 1912 for hydro electricity. Taking the loop road around the lake and stopping regularly for photo opportunities, of course.
Managed to get a decent "wildlife" picture too!
Afterwards we drove back via the Cascade Gardens, situated in the grounds of Banff National Park Administration Building.
I settled down with a cuppa and the Visitor Guide magazine to flick through once we arrived back. Realised that it wouldn't be possible to drive to Lake Moraine tomorrow as the road is now shut to all private road users. Also the car park at Lake Louise is full by 7am! Neil spent a good hour trying to sort out what we could do. Have ended up with a bus transfer to Lake Louise and Lake Moraine but have to leave here by 7am....so an early night for us.
After all the stress, we opened the "cheap" white wine. Actual very nice and much more palatable than last nights expensive red!

So pleased to hear that you got your bottle of wine sorted. 😎
