We woke to low cloud and rain over the lake, another grey day!
Packed up as much as we could before going to breakfast, where we sat with two Flemish couples doing pretty much the same route as us.
Headed back to our cabin and couldn't get the key card to work so had to walk up to the office in the rain. Apparently you shouldn't put them near credit cards or phones as it wipes the magnetic strip, would have been nice to know that!
Eventually left at around 9.30am. The dirt track was now a muddy track and our car was soon mud splattered to match
Drove the 30 minutes back into Clearwater, alongside The North Thompson River for the last time. Managed to get a photo showing how the Canadians dump cars, generally on the edge of a settlement and just leave them. to rust away.
We drove south along The Yellow Head Highway and then west on The Interlakes Highway through the cloud and rain towards our first stop.
at Bridge Lake Ice Caves. Here it was actually dry and we managed a one mile walk to the Ice Caves
With a view over Bridge Lake and some more lichen

There were many lovely flowers too and totem poles!
!
We then continued driving, passing through the wonderfully named place, Lone Butt. No photos as I was driving and Neil was asleep! He woke up quickly enough when I said that there was a bear... wandering across the road in front of the campervan just in front of us. Sadly no photos here either as we were too slow.
We then drove south along Highway 99, following The Fraser River and crisscrossing via box bridges the many creeks, We crossed Cayoosh Creek numerous times. Still pouring with rain
Then on to the picturesque Duffey Lake Road with lots of low cloud and continuing rain.
The road into Whistler was particularly steep, there were warning signs for lorries and runaway lanes for vehicles whose brakes fail.
We arrived in Whistler some 8 hours later, a journey of around 450km. It's still raining and pretty chilly. Popped to the supermarket over the road for some shopping. Cooked some dinner and staying in for a relaxing evening in our lovely AirBnB.
Can you add your up to date route as a map Mr & Mrs Hayward 👍😊👋 , x Mark
